June 11, 2016, Feast of St. Barnabas, early “mentor” of the apostle Paul and generous benefactor of the Christian community, became a truly Pauline celebration with the Perpetual Profession of three members of the Institute of the Holy Family (ISF): Eliseo Doroteo, Agnes Haw, and Marisa Villanueva. The event followed the Perpetual Profession of three members, the first in the SSP Philippine-Macau Province, last March 19, 2016.

The Eucharistic celebration with the rite of profession was held at 4 PM at the Sanctuary of St. Paul the Apostle. The Provincial Superior Fr. Jose Aripio presided at Mass and received the profession of vows. Fr. Domie Guzman, the ISF Formator, gave the homily wherein he traced the collaboration of St. Barnabas and St. Paul and drew lessons from the life and mission of St. Barnabas for the ISF members.

Family members of the candidates were present. Along with Fr. Gil Alinsangan, the Provincial Delegate, the spouses of Eli, Agnes, and Marisa stood by the altar as witnesses.

Following the Perpetual Profession, two groups of ISF renewed their temporary vows: second renewal for three members and third renewal for seven members.

In her word of thanks in the name of her two companions, Marisa thanked members of their family and their friends present, the members of the ISF, the SSP priests concelebrating, the SSP Juniors who served as choir and the SSP seminarians who ac ted as servers, and representatives from the Pauline Family: the Daughters of St. Paul, the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master, and the Institute of Our Lady of the Annunciation.

After the Mass, all those present gathered at the Alberione Hall for the agape.
