To enkindle the fire for the priestly or religious life, the Sisters of St. Paul Chartres (SPC) or Paulinians, together with Saint Paul Seminary (Society of Saint Paul or SSP) organized a one day marian-vocation youth encounter this October 26, 2017 at St. Paul College Island Park (SPCIP), Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Headed by Fr. Ian Paul Empig, SSP and SSP Assistant Vocation Director, Br. Eric Mark Salamat, SSP; a group of thirteen SSP seminarians assisted and facilitated the latter. To add, members of the Light of Jesus (LOJ) Youth Cavite and CFC- Youth for Family and Life (CFC-YFL) Cavite also shared their time and talent as discussion leaders and performers.

Almost 700 students coming from SPCIP, DeLa Salle University (DLSU) Senior High School, and Rogationist College Senior High School came to learn more about their vocation, discernment and glimpsed of what it is to be a member of a religious community.

In her welcoming remarks, Sr. Nora P. Giron, SPC, school administrator, shared how it is integral for them as runners of Catholic institution to be prime movers of good Christian life and seedbeds of future Church leaders and saints.

Session about vocation was discussed arm-to-arm by Fr. Empig and Sr. Auralita Intal, SPC explaining the different forms of vocation, proper discernment and instructions in taking care of one’s calling.

Open forum, group sharing, music presentations or JAM (Jesus And Me), and taize prayer prospered after, while booths from SPC, SSP, LOJ, and CFC-YFL were set-up at the school grounds for viewing.

Eucharistic celebration and awarding of certificates to the facilitators and speakers capped the day.
